    Position Summary
    The Production Supervisor is responsible for scheduling shop floor production and change over. Prioritize run schedules in accordance with shipping needs. Meets production and quality goals. Guide employees to do the right thing at all times. Monitors scrap and reduces the risks that create it. Keeps the line running effectively and treats operators and all employees with respect and dignity. Files reports as may be needed and shares information with whom it is needed.

    Job Duties And Responsibilities:
    •    Responsible for the overall operation of assigned production cell, lines, or area.
    •    Support for scheduling of production work orders and monthly cycle/inventory counts.
    •    Ensures timely and accurate reports, paperwork, and other written communication are filed, processed, or communicated.
    •    Follow and make sure operators adhere to all Standardized Work Instructions (SWI’s), Processes, and Procedures currently in place and any that may be implemented from time to time.
    •    Co-ordinate cycle counts of WIP materials, and update floor schedules accordingly.
    •    Enforce all safety and company rules, policies, memos, and notices. Hold employees accountable for their adherence.
    •    Develop a working, yet professional relationship with operators and supporting staff. Motivate your employees.
    •    Maintain a clean and organized work area at all times.
    •    Effectively communicate on a timely basis with internal departments Coordinate necessary action plans with affected departments.
    •    Work with Material Handler and/or Line Leader to ensure that all materials are readily available for line production needs.
    •    Work closely with the Quality Systems Supervisor and other members of Management to reach production and quality standards and goals.
    •    Monitor, document, and communicate all scrapped products for recycle and environment policies.
    •    Seek ways to improve efficiencies, outputs, and the quality of parts being produced.
    •    Verify that all work is being done correctly, proper labels are used on the correct parts, and parts meet or exceed or quality standards.
    •    Manage the line, operators, and daily production rate. Ensure production is met.
    •    Identify and remove obstacles and inefficiencies from the processes.
    •    Arrive to your production area thirty (30) minutes prior to the scheduled shift start up time to ensure line and material are prepared to effectively operate for your shift. Stay at least fifteen (15) minutes over to communicate with the oncoming shift.
    •    Must be motivated and a strong desire to succeed.
    •    Perform other work as may be necessary per the Plant Manager, Operations Manager, and Superintendent.
    •    Ensure operators are keeping their areas clean, organized, and are respecting the principles of 5S and Lean Manufacturing.
     

    Preferred Knowledge And Education:
    •    Post-Secondary Education or equivalent is preferred   
    •    3 year+ experience in a supervisory capacity is preferred   
    •    Computer literate in Word processing and spreadsheets    
    •    MRP experience is preferred
    •    Inventory control experience
