  • Description :

    The Production Team Lead is responsible for the supervision, coordination and effective scheduling of workers to meet production targets and quality standards.  Responsibilities will include the training of staff in production methods, safety, policies and procedures, as well as the identification and correction of potential work problems and health and safety issues.  Through the effective management of targets, goals and production efficiencies, the Production Supervisor will ensure the ongoing success of the plant floor.

    Job Duties:

    • Accomplishes manufacturing  results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
    • Maintains work flow by monitoring steps of the process; setting processing variables; observing control points and equipment; monitoring personnel and resources
    • Completes production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel; accomplishing work results; establishing priorities; monitoring progress; resolving problems; reporting results of the processing flow on shift production summaries.
    • Responsible for overseeing Quality staff and Material Handlers.
    • Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources; maintaining compliance with the OHSA and the responsibilities as defined under Section (27) of the OHSA and established company policies and procedures
    • Ensures machinery is operating efficiently and safely.
    • Correct and or discipline unsafe acts or conditions.
    • Prepares reports and supplies information and records as required by the Company.
    • Works directly with Plant Manager and other departments when necessary to ensure timely production, a quality part, and timely delivery in all areas.
    • Responsible to conduct Planned/Unplanned safety inspections.
    • Conduct accident investigations
    • Correct or commend Health and Safety Performance
    • Conduct Performance Appraisals for workers safety performance.
    • Maintains working relationship with the union by following the terms of the collective bargaining agreement.
    • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

    Knowledge & Education:

    • Post-secondary degree / diploma in a related field.
    • Minimum of 3 years’ supervisory experience with demonstrated motivating, training, appraising and general supervisory skills.
    • Must have the ability to plan, organize, develop, implement and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, procedures, etc.
    • Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
    • Leadership ability and team building skills to effectively supervise
    • Able to build and maintain lasting relationships with corporate departments, key business partners, and customers

    Work Conditions:

    • May require work in hazardous environments requiring protective equipment.
    • Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals.
    • Overtime as required.
