  • Description :

    The Trim Pattern Developer is responsible for the successful execution of design and development of automotive component trim cover patterns to customer specific requirements.

    Job Description:

    • Understands and is competent with the techniques and tools used to develop trim patterns
    • Understands the language used with respect to automotive trim engineering and development
    • Ability to operate French and deck sew machines
    • Understand sewing terminology, including various sewing machine types, applications, and mechanics of sewing
    • Develop patterns based upon customer STO and foam designs
    • Develop patterns using trim design software ( Lectra, Gerber )
    • Develop best practices and lessons learned related to trim design and development
    • Establish work plans, prioritize projects to meet timing
    • Familiar with basic blue print reading and drafting skills
    • Ensure maintenance of WMG product life cycle and follow WMG CCR process
    • Monitor trim related open issues and assist with solutions for closure
    • Interface with OEM or Tiers and support customer meetings as required
    • Work closely with engineering, program management, sales and quality to ensure all designs meet customer expectations
    • Familiar with bill of materials (BOM) development and structure
    • Develop an understanding of various trim materials, specifications, and industry standards
    • Make various pattern changes for overall product appearance improvement
    • Perform related trim development duties as required

    Requirements:

    • Minimum of three years in Community College with technical diploma or an Engineering degree is preferred
    • Proficient in automotive soft trim sew practices with sewing experience
    • Competent in the use of Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point
    • Experience with gerber and/or lectra design software and digitizing
    • Must possess written and spoken English skills,
    • Proficient communication in Spanish preferred
    • Understands trim materials, specifications and standars
    • Must possess excellent communication skills for liaising and communicating with vendors, customers, and internal departments. Must be professional and presentable. Specific dress code may be required.

    Work Conditions:

    • Travel may be required
    • Ability to attend and conduct presentations
    • Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals
    • Possesses valid drivers license/passport/or working visa for U.S. or international travel
