Polyurethane Foam Molding

Conventional PU Foam

Every year, WMG produces more than 20 million foamed parts including head restraints, arm restraints and more. Each facility within our company has its own foam lines, reducing logistics impacts and inventory levels. Our company specializes in the production of high-quality polyurethane products tailored to the automotive industry. Our advanced manufacturing processes, cutting-edge technology, and commitment to innovation ensure the delivery of comfortable, durable, high-performance materials.

Whether you need low density, high density or dual density foam, WMG can deliver a final product that meets your firmness requirement keeping safety and the environment in mind.

Our company is committed to sustainable practices by using eco-friendly materials and minimizing waste during production.

Pour In Place PIP Foam

Along with conventional PU foam, WMG is proud to have complete Pour-in-Place/Foam-in-place capabilities.

Over the past decade, we have invested in our people and our manufacturing facilities to ensure that we are able to offer this option to our customers.

With the knowledge, expertise and state of the art pour in place systems, WMG is capable of not only manufacturing a premier quality PIP product, but we also design and build the tools and production lines that produce them.

Self Skinning Foam

In addition to conventional foam and foam in place, WMG offers self skinning products. The outer skin of the headrest or armrest is more resilient, providing a smooth, consistent surface that is more resistant to wear, while the interior core remains softer, offering comfort and cushioning.

This combination makes self-skinning foam ideal for automotive seating, where both comfort and durability are important.

Key benefits of self-skinning foam in automotive seating include:

  • Comfort: The softer inner layer provides cushioning for comfort during long periods of sitting.
  • Durability: The firmer outer layer resists wear and damage, which is particularly useful for high-contact areas of a seat.
  • Shape retention: The foam maintains its shape over time, ensuring that seats continue to look good and offer consistent support.
  • Aesthetics: The smooth, uniform skin provides a finished look that can be easily upholstered, contributing to the overall visual appeal of the seat.

Self-skinning foam is commonly used in headrests, armrests, seat cushions, and other parts of the car interior, where both comfort and durability are essential.

In-House Foam Systems Design and Build

As part of our leadership vision, WMG continuously works to further vertically integrate processes and expand it’s capabilities. We not only design and manufacture foam products, but also design and build the molds and production lines that produce them.

Possessing decades of manufacturing knowledge, our internal tool design engineers take that experience combined with lessons learned to design our own foam molds. Once the design is complete, each mold is CNC cut and assembled in our standalone tooling/automation facility.
