  • Description :

    The Inventory Controller will be responsible for ensuring the availability of all necessary materials required to support the manufacturing process globally. The primary responsibilities of this role will be to manage the inventory control system, maintain product data, rectify miscalculations, review and analyze the results of operations, report findings to management and make recommendations for improvement as necessary.

    Job Duties:

    • Investigate and correct discrepancies in reported quantities and locations of all inventory
    • Responsible for overseeing all materials availability to support the manufacturing process globally.
    • Monitors and maintains current inventory levels; processes purchasing orders as required; tracks orders and investigates problems.
    • Responsible for the co-ordination of all outside services, monitoring flow of parts to and from outside service providers and suppliers
    • Assess inventory output on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis to identify trends in productivity
    • Understand, and develop the release and scheduling of raw materials utilizing the existing MRP system
    • Develop and improve the integrity of our internal MRP to ensure accurate release requirement timing
    • Formulate a forward plan of requirements based on historical information and future customer forecasts
    • Co-ordinate cycle counts of raw materials, and update CMS accordingly
    • Implement ABC categories for all inventory to closely control high volume items
    • Identify, develop, and document inventory release strategy for critical components
    • Drive the daily diagnostics of  inventory, and root causes of errors
    • Implement an effective strategy for the most cost effective flow of material to and from outside service providers
    • Develop a close working relationship with outside service providers and suppliers
    • Maintain and analyze outside service providers’ performance based on pre-determined goals
    • Learn scheduling and work order production, to ensure adequate backup to the Master Scheduler
    • Effectively communicate on a timely basis with internal departments Coordinate necessary action plans with affected departments

    Requirements:

    • Post-Secondary Education
    • Inventory control experience
    • 5 years+ years’ experience in materials capacity
    • MRP experience is required
    • Supply Chain Management Experience 5 years+
    • APICS certification preferred
    • Experience working in Automotive Manufacturing 5 years+
    • Experience in project coordination
    • CPSM - Certified Professional in Supply Management - preferred
    • APICS certification preferred

    Work Conditions:

    • Frequent travel will be required.
    • Ability to attend and conduct presentations.
    • Able to physically inspect company property and assets.
    • Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals.
